Teamwork Culture
As part of our effort to reinforce integrity and teamwork at the Cook County Assessor’s Office, we established the Engagement Committee to foster a positive work culture. Its purpose is to help our team feel connected, motivated, and supported. The committee has received recognition from the National Association of County Officials (NACO) for advancing teamwork and organizational culture. - Can a representative from the Human Resources Department help me fill out my application?
No. However, you can contact the Human Resources Department about questions you have about the application process.
- Do I have to sign the application?
Yes. The application must be signed in order for you to be considered for the Position. This is your acknowledgment that all information submitted in response to the posting is true and accurate.
- Why are there questions included at the end of the application?
Some of these questions are Disqualifying Questions and pertain to the Minimum Qualifications for the Position. If you answer “No” to a Disqualifying Question, you will not be considered for the Position. Depending on the Position, there may be other questions which pertain to the Preferred Qualifications for the Position. If you answer “No” to a question regarding a Preferred Qualification, it does not exclude you from consideration for the Position provided you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the Position.
Criminal Background Check Policy
In an ongoing effort to provide a safer and more secure working environment, we are pleased to announce that HR will begin conducting criminal background checks on prospective employees. Effective August 1, 2025, the Background Check Policy will go into effect.
