James Mendez is the Director of Policy for the Cook County Assessor’s Office. In his role, he monitors legislation relevant to the CCAO at the state, county, and municipal level. During his career, James has worked in multiple budgetary and legislative capacities at Chicago’s City Hall and the Illinois State Capitol. Academically, he obtained his B.A. in history from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and an M.A. in public policy and administration from Northwestern University.
