Learn about Reassessments

After taking office in 2018, Assessor Fritz Kaegi committed to delivering accurate and transparent assessments of all residential and commercial properties. From this commitment, reports called "Valuation Reports" were created to provide detailed information about reassessments in each township. These Valuation Reports are produced every year for each township scheduled to be reassessed. Detailed information on residential, commercial, and multifamily properties is included. In addition, information on market values, assessed values, and data sources and methodologies for commercial properties.

For the purpose of assessment, Cook County is divided into three sections. Each triad contains multiple townships. All properties in each triad are reassessed every three years in a triennial cycle. 

This year, in 2025, the North suburbs of Cook County is scheduled to be reassessed. For assessment purposes, the North suburbs of Cook County is divided into townships. You can view the map on the right to identify which township your property is located in. As each township is reassessed, a Residential and Commercial Valuation Report will be posted here.

Property owners in the North suburbs will begin receiving Reassessment Notices in the mail in late March. The Reassessment Notice contains the updated estimated Market Value of a property, property characteristics, and the deadline date to file an appeal.
